With support of Water Conservation Mission (WCM) Commissioner of Rural Development & APARD has supported this program for implementing of 374 water stress villages in Mahabubnagar district. Mahabubnagar is a drought prone district which consists of 64 mandals with an extent of 18.45 Lakhs Ha. And the population is 35.09 lakhs. Most of them are depending on dry land agriculture aroundly 65% of cultivable land is depending on monsoons. The district’s rainfall is 604 mm and level of ground water is very low, these conditions are influencing the people to migrate from rural areas. Based on this situation ECO-CLUB had taken the initiation to organize the awareness programs and training to the NRM committee members in the villages. With the support of members and community we prepare the village level micro plan for the drinking water as well as irrigation water conservation and utilization. We successfully completed this program with the support of local community and agency.
